What is the Average Cost of Dermal Fillers?

Aging causes changes in the skin, fat, and muscles of your face. Loss of facial volume can result in hollow-looking cheeks or thin lips. At the same time, you may notice lines and wrinkles appearing in areas such as around the mouth. Dermal fillers restore lost facial volume and smooth lines and wrinkles for a more youthful look

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable, biocompatible products that enhance facial volume and soften the appearance of wrinkles. At the Pennsylvania Centre For Plastic Surgery, we offer Juvederm® dermal fillers. This family of fillers allows your expert injector to choose the right one to address your concerns.

How Do Juvederm® Dermal Fillers Work?

Juvederm® fillers are injected into target areas to enhance volume and lift lines and wrinkles from beneath. All members of the family use a large molecule called hyaluronic acid. This molecule can form long, complex chains that give it different properties. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in your skin, where it works to draw in and hold onto moisture. Dermal fillers like Juvederm® provide immediately visible results. Depending on the formula, they can last from six to eighteen months or even longer.

What is the Average Cost of Dermal Fillers?

The cost of dermal fillers varies widely depending on a number of factors.
  • The type of filler used
  • The amount of filler needed
  • Your provider’s experience and skill
  • Your location
  • The number of areas being treated
Juvederm® fillers are typically priced by the syringe. The national average cost of Juvederm® ranges from $650 to $700. We recommend a consultation to determine your treatment goals and provide you with an accurate estimate.

Where Can Juvederm® Dermal Fillers Be Used?

One reason we prefer the Juvederm® family of fillers is the flexibility they allow. Different members of the family offer benefits such as:
  • Restoring lost volume to the cheeks and mid-face
  • Lifting and smoothing lines and wrinkles
  • Treating deep creases such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • Plumping lips and smoothing lines around the mouth
Dermal fillers can also be used for a variety of other purposes, so discuss all your concerns during your consultation.

Do I Need Botox® or Dermal Fillers?

You may wonder whether you need dermal fillers or a different kind of wrinkle-smoothing treatment. Unlike dermal fillers, Botox® treats lines and wrinkles caused by muscle movement. These include expression lines such as forehead and brow creases. Dermal fillers work better for lines and wrinkles caused by skin laxity and loss of facial volume. Some people benefit from having Botox® and dermal fillers to address different concerns.

Is There Any Downtime With Dermal Fillers?

You can have Juvederm® injections on your lunch break and return to work immediately. Dermal fillers require no downtime, although you should avoid exercise for 24 hours. You might see some minor bruising or swelling in the area of the injections, but this will fade within a few days.
