What are the Benefits of Liposuction?

Even if you lead a healthy lifestyle, you most likely have a few areas you have been unable to sculpt or slim. Fat can accumulate in places where it becomes almost impossible to budge. Liposuction removes these stubborn pockets of fat for effective body contouring and shaping.

What is Liposuction?

If you struggle with fat in areas like your abdomen, thighs, or even your neck, liposuction can help. This procedure uses small incisions to insert a cannula that breaks up fat and removes it with suction. Injections of sterile saline and lidocaine, a numbing agent, may be used to decrease bleeding and make a recovery more comfortable. Dr. Scott Brenman will explain his plans and answer any questions you have before the procedure.

What are the Benefits of Liposuction?

Liposuction ranks among the most popular aesthetic procedures. It addresses the frustration people feel when they have maintained a healthy lifestyle but cannot achieve the sculpted look they want. Other benefits include:

  • Improved techniques with less recovery time
  • Can be used almost anywhere that fat accumulates
  • Long-lasting results
  • More fat removal than non-surgical methods

Where can Liposuction Be Used?

Liposuction is a highly customizable procedure, and Dr. Brenman can use it to sculpt and shape almost any part of your body. Areas of especially stubborn fat include:

  • Abdomen
  • Flanks
  • Buttocks
  • Back
  • Thighs
  • Arms
  • Neck
  • Under the chin

How Much is Liposuction?

Several factors affect the cost of your liposuction procedure. Surgeons in different areas will have different pricing. Those with more skill and experience may have higher prices. Your cost will vary depending on the size of the area where you have liposuction. The average cost of liposuction is $3637. This does not include associated fees and expenses like anesthesia.

Am I a Good Candidate for Liposuction?

If you have unwanted fat you cannot get rid of, you may be a good candidate for liposuction. Ideal candidates are within 25-30% of their target weight and lead a healthy lifestyle. You might not make a good candidate if you have medical conditions that could affect bleeding.

What is Recovery Like From Liposuction?

During the first few days after the procedure, we recommend getting lots of rest, but we also encourage gentle movement to promote circulation. Most people can return to work within about a week. Swelling and bruising fade significantly after the first week. Some physical activities may need to wait for two to three weeks.

What Results Will I See With Liposuction?

Non-surgical fat removal requires waiting while your body filters away the fat. Liposuction removes fat during the procedure for results you can see as soon as the swelling starts to subside. The treated area will look slimmer and more sculpted. Results will last as long as you maintain a healthy weight.

This visit was a pleasure! Dr. Brenman thoroughly explained my options and did seem rushed. He answered all my questions and made me comfortable with making my decision. Gina was friendly and helpful in facilitating scheduling etc. I feel confident in my choice.
