What is SmartLipo?
Traditional liposuction uses a cannula inserted under the skin. This blunt-ended instrument breaks up fat and suctions it away. This method of body sculpting is very effective but can leave uncomfortable swelling and bruising. SmartLipo, or laser-assisted liposuction, uses a very thin cannula containing a laser fiber. This fiber sends out thermal energy into the fat cells, causing them to liquefy, so they become much easier to remove. With less swelling and bruising, you will experience less discomfort and return to your usual routine sooner. How Does SmartLipo Work?
SmartLipo uses laser lipolysis, which means it uses a laser to break down fat cells. The fat cells absorb heat energy from the laser and become liquid. The thermal energy directed at the fat cells causes no damage to other tissues. However, the heat can trigger the skin cells to increase collagen production. This new collagen helps to tighten the skin after SmartLipo, making your final results look smoother and more sculpted. Traditional liposuction offers no skin-tightening benefits so that you can be left with loose or sagging skin.SmartLipo Consultations Available

How Much Does SmartLipo Cost?
The cost of SmartLipo depends on your location, with some areas having a higher average price than others. Your surgeon’s experience also plays a role since a skilled and experienced surgeon will not offer bargain services. A large area of the body will cost more than a smaller area. On average, the cost for SmartLipo is $5250. Pricing can range from as low as $1500 for SmartLipo on a small area to as high as $7500 on an area like the abdomen. One factor to consider with the cost of SmartLipo: fat does not grow back, so the fat removed by this treatment is gone for good. What is Recovery Like From SmartLipo?
Unlike traditional liposuction, SmartLipo lets people start getting back to their regular lives within as little as 24-48 hours. Most people can go back to work within just a few days. Since SmartLipo only requires a local anesthetic, you will remain awake and not have to worry about a recovery period from a general anesthetic.Am I a Good Candidate for SmartLipo?
If you are in overall good health and have areas of fat you want to get rid of, you may be a good candidate for SmartLipo. Since this technique is not intended for weight loss, you should have reasonable expectations about the results you will see. You may not make a good candidate if you have certain bleeding or clotting disorders. “After losing 87 pounds I decided I would treat myself and get a tummy tuck that I have been wanting for some time. I researched and thought Dr Scot Brenman would be best. Well suffice it to say I am not thrilled with my results. Ultimately my tummy is flatter which was what I wanted but my belly button is 2 inches above the incision line which I hate! He promised lipo which til this day I’m betting he didn’t do! Also his aftercare was thee WORSE! He never followed up with me after the removal of my drains! No way will he receive another one of my hard earned dimes!” *This visit was a pleasure! Dr. Brenman thoroughly explained my options and did seem rushed. He answered all my questions and made me comfortable with making my decision. Gina was friendly and helpful in facilitating scheduling etc. I feel confident in my choice.
