Reduce Sagging Skin with an Arm Lift

The arm lift – also known as a brachioplasty – is a surgical procedure designed to remove sagging skin on the arms that may have formed as a result of aging or weight loss. The goal of the arm lift is to ensure the skin matches the natural contours of your arm, thus helping you show off your arms in all their glory. The arm lift is a great choice for candidates who have recently lost a significant amount of weight but may feel self-conscious about the resulting sagging skin. It can also be tailored for patients who are noticing more sagging skin due to getting older. If your sagging arm skin is leading to a number of infections, your health insurance policy may cover the cost of some or all of your arm lift.

What to Expect from Your Arm Lift Procedure

Once you’ve decided to undergo the arm lift procedure, you’ll be surprised at how straightforward the surgery can be! The treatment takes about an hour to perform; during that time, you’ll be placed under general anesthesia to ensure you’re comfortable. Your surgeon will make incisions above the elbow and along the underside of the arm. From there, your arm muscles will be repositioned and excess skin removed. The incisions will be closed and you’ll spend a couple more hours in outpatient before heading home.
