How Long Before I Can Return to Work After a Breast Augmentation?

Genetics, weight loss, childbirth, and aging can impact your bust size and leave you feeling unsatisfied. A breast augmentation can provide natural-looking results to restore volume and enhance your bust. If you desire a fuller bust line or to correct unevenly sized breasts, a breast augmentation may be right for you.

Vectra 3D Imaging for Visualizing Breast Augmentation

At The Pennsylvania Centre for Plastic Surgery, we utilize Vectra 3D imaging to help clients considering breast augmentation visualize their results with various implant sizes. During your consultation, the Vectra 3D Imaging System will scan your body to generate an image of your current breasts. The system will then be able to use your measurements to create a 3D model that will allow you to see the results of your breast augmentation using various sizes of implants.

How Long Before I Can Return to Work After a Breast Augmentation?

Before your breast augmentation, you will need to arrange for someone to drive you home and stay with you for at least the first night of your recovery. We recommend you create a recovery space beforehand so you can rest right away instead of spending time to set it up. Depending on your job, you may be able to return to work and light activities within a few days or a week.

You should avoid vigorous activity and movement for two to three weeks and avoid sexual activity for at least a week after surgery. Be very gentle with your breasts for a month or longer after surgery. Full recovery from breast augmentation can take four to six weeks. If you have questions or concerns about your recovery period after breast augmentation, you can speak with Dr. Brenman to learn more.

What Results Can I Expect With Breast Augmentation?

The results from your breast augmentation will be immediately visible. You will have some swelling after treatment, so it may take several months before you can see your final results. A breast augmentation will help you achieve fuller breasts with enhanced shape. If you have additional concerns such as sagging breasts, your procedure may be paired with a breast lift, excess skin removal, or resizing the areola to achieve desired results.

Am I a Candidate for a Breast Augmentation?

Most individuals who are unsatisfied with the current state of their breasts or would like to restore their breasts after childbirth or weight loss may be good candidates for breast augmentation. Breast augmentation can not address loose or sagging skin, so a breast lift may be necessary to achieve your desired results.

Candidates for a breast procedure should be in good health, as well as non-smokers, and have reasonable expectations of what a breast augmentation can do for them. During your consultation, Dr. Brenman will help you decide the best treatment option.

This visit was a pleasure! Dr. Brenman thoroughly explained my options and did seem rushed. He answered all my questions and made me comfortable with making my decision. Gina was friendly and helpful in facilitating scheduling etc. I feel confident in my choice.
