Losing a large amount of weight takes commitment and hard work. If you have successfully lost the weight but now have loose skin all over your body, you may feel like the results of your efforts are still out of reach. A body lift can remove this excess skin to let you appreciate the results of your hard work.
What is a Body Lift?
A body lift is a customized surgical procedure that treats areas of the body where the skin has become stretched and loose. During a body lift, Dr. Brenman removes excess skin, lifts, and tightens multiple areas of the body for a slimmer, more contoured shape. A body lift often includes the abdomen, thighs, arms, sides, and other areas of concern. Many people feel like this procedure finally completes their weight loss journey.

How Does a Body Lift Work?
During a body lift, Dr. Brenman will make incisions that allow him to lift and tighten the skin in problem areas. Depending on the complexity of your surgery, the process can take three to five hours. Liposuction can help remove bothersome pockets of fat and achieve a more sculpted figure. Tightening the loose skin highlights the slimmer figure hidden underneath, letting you enjoy the results you have worked to achieve.
What is Recovery Like After a Body Lift?
Most people go home the same day. We recommend having a reliable adult available for the first day or two to assist you. Soreness and swelling start to improve after the first few days. You will have compression garments that support the areas while they heal. You may have a prescription for pain medication for a few days.
If your job does not require physical activity, you can return to work in one to two weeks. Very active jobs may require a longer wait. After about four weeks, most people can resume their usual activities, but always follow your surgeon’s recommendations before adding strenuous exercise back into your routine. You can expect some residual swelling that lasts up to a few months, and your results will improve as this swelling subsides.

How Much Does a Body Lift Cost?
No two body lifts are the same, so that costs will vary depending on the complexity of your procedure. The national average found that body lifts cost about $8,000. This will differ depending on where you live and your surgeon’s experience performing this surgery. This price does not cover fees and expenses, including anesthesia, post-surgical care, medications, or surgical garments.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Body Lift?
If you have lost weight and now have sagging skin, you may make a good candidate for a body lift. We recommend this surgery for people with no significant health problems and reasonable expectations. People with bleeding or clotting problems may not make good candidates.
