How Does BOTOX® Work?
BOTOXⓇ contains botulinum toxin type A, which is a type of neurotoxin that interrupts the brain’s signals to corresponding nerve endings. These are the same nerve endings that cause the muscles to engage in repetitive movements – the same movements that can lead to deep, stubborn lines. However, when these muscles no longer respond to nerve endings, the lines relax, leading to a smoother and softer appearance.
Through a series of tiny injections, BOTOX® gives you a rejuvenated look by smoothing crow’s feet beneath the eyes, frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal lines across the forehead, worry lines around the mouth, and muscle bands in the neck.

Am I a Good Candidate for BOTOXⓇ?

You’re a good candidate for BOTOX® if you have mild-to-moderate facial wrinkles and lines made worse with expression. BOTOX® is most effective on forehead lines and crow’s feet, although it can be used on other locations.
How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
The length of a typical BOTOX® session takes just under 30 minutes, making it a great procedure for busy individuals.
What Results Will I See?*
Patients will be able to see results within 4-7 days, although you may notice some redness and slight swelling at the injection site which quickly resolves. Quick, safe and effective, BOTOX® reduces facial lines and wrinkles for up to four months with no downtime or surgery and little to no discomfort.
Is There Any Downtime?
There is generally no downtime associated with your BOTOX® treatment. However, it is recommended that you avoid physical activity the first 24 hours after your BOTOX® injection, and avoid aspirin and ibuprofen products several days before and after treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.
