Candidates for Lip and Cheek Enhancement
If you have thinning lips or are beginning to see volume loss in your cheek region (or both!), you may be a good candidate for lip and cheek enhancement surgery at The Pennsylvania Centre for Plastic Surgery in Philadelphia and Plymouth Meeting, PA. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Scott A. Brenman uses fat transfers to help augment lip and cheek volume, all while minimizing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and smoker’s lines.
The best candidates for lip and cheek enhancement have thinning lips or smoker’s lines, which appear as vertical lines across the surface of the lips. Candidates for cheek enhancement may notice that they’re losing the “apples” of their cheeks. All candidates should have enough body fat to complete the procedure. Candidates should be healthy non-smokers who have realistic expectations for the procedure’s outcomes.
How Does It Work?
No matter which option you select, your enhancement procedure will begin by harvesting fat from high-density areas, such as your stomach or thighs. The fat is cleansed and prepared for treatment; after this step, the fat is directly injected into the lips or the cheeks. Dr. Brenman may use several injections to help replicate the most natural results possible. This procedure is usually performed in the office with light sedation and local anesthesia.
