Botox® has been around for many years and is considered one of the leading cosmetic treatments in the world. It’s a non-surgical option for people that want to treat fine lines and wrinkles, but is it safe? This is a question Dr. Brenman and his team receive all the time, and the short answer is yes. Botox® is a safe treatment to undergo, though it helps to learn how it works.

About Botulinum Toxin
Botulinum Toxin is the solution that’s injected into you when you have Botox® treatments – Botox® is simply a brand name! This toxin has a very specific purpose when injected: it looks to inhibit the messages sent between your brain and specific muscles. This may sound worrying, but there’s nothing to be afraid of. Botulinum toxin is typically injected into specific muscles of the face. These muscles are responsible for creating different facial expressions. As such, when the solution prevents contractions, it inhibits the repetitive movements that lead to fine lines and wrinkles. Think about it; if you frown all the time, you develop deep frown lines. By temporarily freezing the muscles that cause repetitive movement, these lines can’t form. This is why Botox® is one of the most popular and effective treatments to combat wrinkles! Is Botox® Safe?
It’s a common misconception that Botox® is not safe. This stems from the fact that you are technically injecting a toxin into your body, and most people think this is bad. In reality, Botox® has been FDA-approved since 2002 and is completely safe. You only inject a minute amount into your body, so it won’t cause any damaging side effects. The caveat to this is that Botox® is only safe when performed by a licensed and trained expert. Thankfully, Dr. Brenman has been conducting Botox® treatment for many years, so you can trust he adheres to all the safety procedures to keep you at ease.Candidates for Botox®
Botox® is safe for most of the population to undergo. It is commonly used to treat all of the telltale signs of aging. This includes facial wrinkles and fine lines, particularly in problem areas of the face. Many candidates will use Botox® by the eyes to treat crow’s feet, which is caused by squinting. It’s incredibly versatile, meaning it treats pretty much any wrinkles or signs of aging on the face that are caused by muscular contracture. However, Dr. Brenman and his team do not recommend this treatment for patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a neurological disease, or are under the age of 18.Botox Consultations Available

Am I a Candidate for Botox®?
Do you fall into any of the categories listed above? If so, you are not a suitable candidate for Botox®. However, if you don’t fall into those categories, this could be a fantastic treatment for you. It’s a simple and effective way of dealing with fine lines and wrinkles, and it’s particularly useful for individuals with lines caused by facial expressions. “After losing 87 pounds I decided I would treat myself and get a tummy tuck that I have been wanting for some time. I researched and thought Dr Scot Brenman would be best. Well suffice it to say I am not thrilled with my results. Ultimately my tummy is flatter which was what I wanted but my belly button is 2 inches above the incision line which I hate! He promised lipo which til this day I’m betting he didn’t do! Also his aftercare was thee WORSE! He never followed up with me after the removal of my drains! No way will he receive another one of my hard earned dimes!” *This visit was a pleasure! Dr. Brenman thoroughly explained my options and did seem rushed. He answered all my questions and made me comfortable with making my decision. Gina was friendly and helpful in facilitating scheduling etc. I feel confident in my choice.
