Breast Lift – Preparing for Surgery – Pennsylvania
Published on October 16, 2013 by Scott Brenman
Mastopexy, more commonly known as the breast lift, is a cosmetic surgery that corrects sagging and excessive drooping of the nipple-areola complex. Breast lift procedures, like most cosmetic surgeries, require a lot of preparation and planning on part of the patient and the doctor.
It is important to have a board-certified, experienced plastic surgeon like Dr. Scott Brenman. Even with a great team behind you, it is crucial to do your own preparations and follow the doctor’s instructions as best you can. Before the procedure, you may be asked to get a lab test, take some medications or adjust current ones. If you are a smoker, you will have to stop well in advance of the surgery, as smoking poses a risk to the success of the surgery. After your procedure, plan to avoid heavy lifting for at least a month or two; it may behoove you to ask for some help around the home.
These and other considerations are important to keep in mind leading up to your breast lift. If you have more questions, please feel free to contact us at our office in Pennsylvania.
